Preparing the Leaders of Tomorrow
Your support fuels coast-to-cast education for hundreds of USC students who travel to Washington, DC each year for immersive and transformational experiences they can only have at the USC Capital Campus. Local faculty teach unique programs, such as the USC in DC First Semester Program and USC in DC Summer Dialogue Institute, opening the minds of students to understand the impact that the policies and laws created in DC has on every industry, and preparing them with skills necessary for civic dialogue and disagreement. Professors of practice, such as USC Capital Campus Scholar in Residence Chuck Todd, bring into the classroom the politicians and leading thinkers shaping policies and laws today.

Connecting Students with Opportunities
Through standalone programs such as the Leonard D. Schaeffer Fellows in Government Service, the Keck School of Medicine Global Health Fellows, and the Shoah Foundation’s Student-Athlete Leadership Academy, as well as through the dedicated efforts of local alumni and friends, the USC Capital Campus connects students with professional opportunities in Washington, DC. Whether students are interning on the Hill while taking classes as part of the USC in DC Spring Semester Program, or visiting DC for a summer internship in national security, the Capital Campus provides the support, housing, and structure to provide students with meaningful professional development experiences that prepare them for their future careers.

Impacting Research and Influencing Policy
The USC Capital Campus provides a forum for evidence-based research to inform national policy, elevating the impact of USC experts on the most critical issues facing our nation today. Through its anchor institutes, the USC Leonard D. Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy and Government Service, the USC Shoah Foundation, and the USC Center on Economic and Social Research, the Capital Campus provides an important convening space for bipartisan and nonpartisan discussions across a every industry and sector.

A Civic and Community Hub
The Capital Campus is the East Coast home of the Trojan Family, a hub for alumni and networking events, including an annual Trojan Family Reception, holiday parties, SCend-Offs, and other gatherings. Trojan alums across DC, Maryland, and Virginia have generously donated their time and treasures to welcome students at dinners and events, helping them feel at home across the country and demonstrating the Trojan Family is lifelong and worldwide.
Through partnerships with the DC Mayor’s Office, the Washington DC Economic Partnership, the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District, and several local nonprofits and community partners, the USC Capital Campus is continuing the USC tradition of public service through volunteerism, work-study opportunities, and collaborative initiatives.
